Password policies not enforced for some passwords

Problem

I have set password policies, but existing passwords still work, even though they do not conform to the policies that I have set.

Cause

Password policies do not affect existing passwords. All of the passwords that were set prior to upgrading to Nitix 4.0 will be grandfathered in, and allowed to remain in place, even though they may not conform to the set policies.

Solution

If you create new passwords or change existing ones, then the policies that have been set will be enforced. Please instruct users to change their passwords in order to enforce the policies.
