Problem

How do I share my personal folders ?

Solution

The ExchangeIt server provides access to items based upon permissions set on a folder-by-folder basis. Permissions on a folder are inherited by its sub-folders and can be overridden.

To share a folder:

  1. Right click on it and select Properties.
  2. When the Properties window opens, select the ExchangeIt! Folder tab.
  3. Click on Add to add a permission.
  4. Choose the team or user you wish to give permissions to and click OK.
  5. That user or team will now be in the list of permissions with basic read permission.
  6. To change the permission, select the users from the list and choose the new permission level from the drop down list.
  7. To finish, click Apply and then OK. That user now has the modified permissions to that folder.

Note:In order for that person to view the folder they must first subscribe to the folder

Important Note
Remember that ALL of the folder's contents, including sub-folders, are shared (except mail and deleted items). Ensure that it only contains items that you wish to share prior to setting the ACL in the ExchangeIt! Permissions tab.
