Problem

How can I customise the look of the WebConfig and the WebMail interfaces ?

Solution

This process requires administrator access to the Nitix server.

  1. Your logo file must be named exactly as below in order for this custom option to work. Rename your new logo file to:
  2. custom_logo.gif

  3. Telnet into the Nitix server and log in as an admin user.
  4. Put the custom_logo.gif file in the webmaster's WWW directory.
  5. At the telnet prompt, type:
  6. wv set [HTTPD]Use Custom Logo=1

  7. In Nitix versions earlier than 4.3 you must reboot your server to initialize the changes. In later versions, rebooting is not necessary and you may skip to the next step.
  8. Access your WebMail or your WebConfig to verify that the logo appears.

If there is no custom_logo.gif file in the webmaster's WWW directory, then the default logo will be used instead.

If you upload a file after turning on the custom logo setting, then in version 4.3 and later you must either toggle the custom logo setting off and then on again or reboot the server as in earlier versions.
